Product of the Week
The weeks have slipped on by, but I have chosen a product for this week. I have actually chosen an entire product line because I have seen and heard only good things about it. Here's a pic ----^
The Pureology line is 100% Vegan and was created sulfate-free before it became so popular to do so. It is marketed as an excellent color care line, which it is. However, it is also excellent for adding nutrients and moisture to chemically treated and natural hair as well. The line consists mostly of shampoos and conditioners and just a few styling products. It leaves the hair soft, in good health, and smelling very good.
Just pick the set that targets whatever problems you're having with your hair and you should be satisfied with the results.
Check it out!
-Until next time.

Beauty is PERFECTED on the INSIDE...and ENHANCED on the OUTSIDE.
Think about it... true beauty comes from within. It begins with your personal peace, your joy, your happiness and your being content.
In my opinion (disclaimer lol), if you are not in a good place, if you have not found what brings you these things in life, if your spirit is unsettled or filled with envy/deceitfulness, etc etc. then no amount of make-up or nice hair-do's will suffice. You will deep down feel that you are not beutiful or good enough.
In turn, that will be reflected out to others in different ways...none of which give off the aura of inner beauty.
I mean, we've all met people who's attitudes stink so bad that they become the most unattractive people ever right? That's not who we wanna be...
Sooo, in conclusion, it's best to find your inner peace (my God and His Son are a GREAT means ;), family and other loved ones. Tap in on who and what you are blessed with and go from there. Life is too short to feel "unpretty".
Perfect your peace and get your pretty!
Once the inside is taken care of...the outside is merely a playground...
Nighty night.

Love took a detour....
over some bumps, through some tunnels, but never hit a dead end. I never gave up on love, even when I wanted nothing to do with it. Love is a gift from the Lord, it's not of the world but still it is one of the most beautiful things herein.......Love took a detour....over some bumps, through some tunnels...and led me right. back. to...You. ♥

Product of the Week
Okay this week I choose this Paul Mitchell Clarifying Shampoo Two. A very wise stylist that I have been assisting since I finished school taught me a very valuable lesson: hair should always be clarified/cleansed before adding moisture. Meaning that you need to always use an intense cleansing shampoo before a moisturizing shampoo. This one is a great option...here's a pic -------------------------------------------------------------------->

The Single Girl Rules! Vol. 1
Okay lol, so here I am speaking (typing) about a topic that I never imagined would ever be so important to me: being single, 24, and setting the bar for the next relationship.....ughhhh lol.
I have very seldomly been the single girl in my short 24 years, but I most definitely am now...have been for about a year technically, so let me just bite the bullet and get to talking about it! Lol
So here are my single girl rules for today:
1. Ladies, we are to be pursued. Not the other way around. Tell these men to come correct or go home lol. Yeah, it's like that.
I mean, definitely check yourself and be sure that you're not being rude, or "stand-offish", especially if you actually like someone. But let him come after you. In my opinion it feels 100% better than the other way around. Take control of your emotions, do NOT contact him nearly as much as he contacts you..soooo for example: if he barely ever contacts you, then you barely NEVER contact him lol. He'll live. Trust me.
2. If you see potential but they're not living up to it...dang! Oh well, gotta let it go boo. Step back and watch what he's gonna do. But don't overlook anything that makes you pause. Remember your ex? Lol, he had potential didn't he?? (Ooooh, no offense to any exes who may be checking this out :/ I'm just saying though! LOL)
3. Know your worth. Take this time to learn yourself, play the field (respectfully of course!), and prepare for whatever is to come. Pray about it if you want the real thing and worst of all, but most importantly of all, be patient. And try to be sure not to settle.
This whole single thing is crazy, especially for someone who wants to be snatched up...but let's be real, forever is a loooong time! I can wait Lol...unless of course he would like to come now...:) LOL
But in hindsight, let's remember what is most important to us...and that's not necessarily a man. At least not in my case. I love the Lord, and He's still working on me. So I can imagine that He is still working on my mate as well. And if I am blessed to live to see true love on this Earth it will be well worth the wait and the bumpy ride. So I plan to do my best to be at peace and grounded and smiling everyday along the way. . . join me!
P.S. No worries, I'm talking to myself and yall b/c some days I'm sure I will refer to this and have to take my own advice.

April BIO of the Month: Rachel Roy
For the month of April, I have chosen Rachel Roy as my biography of the month. I am a big fan of Rachel Roy's clothing; as well as her overall poise and elegant demeanor. It's not very easy to gather a great load of information about her personal life, however, her achievements and contributions have inspired me, so here's what I have:
Birthdate: January 15, 1974
Homestate: California
Education: Colombia Union College in Maryland/Washington D.C. area
Spouse: Damon Dash (husband), 2 children (both beautiful girls)
After college Rachel moved to New York City to pursue her fashion endeavors. She began as a freelance stylist for magazine shoots and videos. Ultimately, she was hired as an intern with Rocawear about 10 years ago. She pays alot of homage to that internship for showing her the ropes of the business. In many of her interviews, she encourages young aspirants to "work, work, work...intern, intern, intern" even in divisions and departments of the business that do not spark your immediate interest, for the sake of learning every single aspect of the industry. This advice could be taken and applied to any industry, not just fashion.
Her internship eventually led to her becoming Creative Director and running all of the design departments for Rocawear Juniors and Girls. In 2004, however, she ventured out and put her talents to work with her very own sophisticated and "effortlessly elegant" (my favorite term to hear her use) clothing line. Her line is self-titled "Rachel Roy" and she has since created a line at a lower pricepoint for Macy's entitled Rachel Rachel Roy for younger women. It doesn't stop there, her and singer Estelle are now teaming up to design a line of jewelry.
Aside from being an excellent designer, Rachel is also a constant advocant for giving and tied to many charitable efforts. For her 36th birthday, instead of receiving gifts for herself, she asked that donations be made to Charity: Water to get clean drinking water to those in need. The goal was set for $15,000. The amount raised was upwards of $18,000. What a contribution! This is just one example of the size of her heart. Fan her on Facebook or follow her on Twitter. I guarantee the things she does will push you to volunteer yourself to those less fortunate or in need of a role model.
Rachel Roy is beautiful inside and out and a great example for any woman who would like to represent the combination of strength and true beauty. I was first introduced to her designs right before my 21st birthday. She had designed a beautiful gold dress that I wanted sooo badly for my birthday events, I've admired every collection since.
What I personally love about the interviews I've seen with her is her confidence in what she says and the way that she comes across as a class act. She is truly an inspiration for me in that way. She wants her line to represent and be worn by a woman who wears many hats and plays many roles in life for many different people; and while looking pulled together and elegant is a priority for her ideal client, fashion itself, or the trends therin, is not. Love that.
Check out her clothing line at http://www.rachelroy.com/
Google her, the girl is fly! Lol

BIO of the Month: March 2010
I have this wonderful idea to give a short biography of an influential person every month. For the month of March, I had two women in mind...unfortunately upon reading about their many successes, I was turned off by other facts about them that I discovered. That's when I realized how important it is to me whose lives I choose to report...
That being said, the March bio is just about null and void, seeing as there is only an hour left in the month of March. BUT, no worries, the April bio will be chosen wisely, considerably, informatively. . . . . .and soon :)
Until next time. . .

Product of the Week
I am going to do my very best to keep this going...as a hairstylist (officially licensed as of March 25,2010!) I will post the products that have left a lasting effect on me while using them on clients. . . this week I will vouch for this Mizani MoistureFusion duo: Milk Bath and Silk Cream Conditioner, here's a pic: - - - - - - - - - - - >
The Milk Bath is the shampoo and it lists milk of almond and silk proteins as ingredients. The Silk Cream Conditioner lists milk of almond and coconut oil as ingredients.
I've used it on 3 clients and have had pretty good results so far. Everyone's hair will not react the same way to every product, remember that...but I do encourage trying this duo. It is a professional product so ask your stylist about it! Or of course you could just come see me :)
Until next time. . .
"Christ Is Risen"
...the title of today's devotional in the daily devotional that I lifted from my mother. It's a really good book, everytime I read it (which I try to read it consistently everyday) I feel that I definitely gain something. Most definitely. It has soothed me on many days, given me lots of strength.
Last week at church and in today's devotional, this verse (Romans 10:9) has been brought to my attention. It was also a very popular verse when I was a teenager and at church frequently throughout the week. So I ask myself today why is Romans 10:9 continuously being brought to my attention? What is the Lord trying to tell me? I am a believer, I have been for as long as I can remember...
The verse reads "If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved..."
Upon trying to read the verse over and over to try to see what I'm supposed to get from it, "believe in your heart" immediately jumps off of the page and stares me in the face. . . "believe in your heart" that the Lord raised His Son from the dead and through that my sins are all payed for. "Believe in your heart..."

Everchanging Emotions
It amazes me how differently you can view/feel about a situation/event/person/etc. just within a short period of 24 hrs. Or less time than that even, within an hour I can feel four different ways about the same thing lol. I think it is crazy how depending upon how you feel emotionally at any given moment determines how you break down a situation, circumstance, or decision. One miute you can decide that "Johnny" is the best thing since smoked sausage. . .the next minute he's the scum of the Earth. One minute you can think you would never speak to an old friend again b/c she is just sooooo wrong, the next you miss something about her, run into her and find yourself naturally speaking to her. And the list of possibilities goes on and on. The human mind is amazing, racing 500,000,000 times a minute (a personal approximation lol). Is this just a female thing, do all humans experience this, or is it just. . . . . .me? :)
BTW, I love the sound of these keys as I type what randomly comes to my mind. This blog is a release for me. I am truly a writer at heart. Lots to express :)
[I read a quote somewhere that said all young girls/women between the ages of 5 and 25 are in a CONSTANT struggle to find what identifies who they really are. Do you agree with that? I do. One more year for me! Lol)

Okay, 24.
Tomorrow I turn 24. :)
Thank you Lord for all that you do for me, all that you have done for me, and all that you will do for me. Continue to keep me, my loved ones, and all of us here on Earth in your hands. You are remarkable.
And so with that. . .and a brand new mind frame :), let's get this 24th year started. Young adulthood will be a blast I'm sure, I can't lose with Him, no matter what.
Toodles. :/ :). . . :)!
